Keep the park clean

Residents are urged to keep the park clean at all times.

Xolani Mnyiphika, an employee at the metro’s parks department, raised his concerns about the park in Primrose.

Mnyiphika said he is not happy about the condition of the park found on Main Road.

“We are employed to cut grass at various parks, with the Fishers’ Hill park being one of them,” he said.

“I am just saddened by the condition we find the park in every time we come for the regular cutting and maintenance.

“On countless occasions we have come across bottles, glass, plastic and other rubbish, which makes it very difficult for us to cut the grass.”

Mnyiphika said they also find tree branches lying around at the park.

“We have also noted that people cut tree branches and we don’t know why they do that or what they use them for,” he said.

“I appeal to all Primrose residents and users of the park to take care of the park in order for everyone to enjoy its benefits.

“There are dustbins at the park; please use them.

“This message is not only for Primrose residents but to everyone. Please keep our parks clean.”
