Shots fired during house robbery

Police managed to nab three of the five men believed to be involved in a Silumaview house robbery.

Three men, aged 22, 24 and 26 years old, were recently arrested by the Katlehong South police for a Silumaview house robbery.

It is alleged that the accused were three of five men who stormed the home of a 22-year-old woman.

“It is claimed the men forced the door open, firing gun shots in the process.

“No one was injured during the incident and the robbers only made off with a few items,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster.

The suspects took a cellphone, a box of earrings and jacket before fleeing the scene on foot.

“When the suspects ran away the victim screamed for help and the community and officers on patrol in the area chased after the suspects,” Ndobe explained.

Police managed to catch three of the accused while the remaining two escaped.

“We are still searching for the remaining suspects,” said Ndobe.

The men will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of house robbery.
