Two arrested for alleged housebreaking in Lambton

Complainant chases after men who were robbing his house.

Germiston SAPS members were patrolling in Lambton, last Thursday, when they saw two men jumping over a wall.

The police stopped their patrol vehicle and gave chase.

They managed to catch the men and arrested them.

“While they were busy with the suspects, the complainant came over to them and informed the members that the men had just broken into his house and he had been chasing them,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

“The police went to the scene and found that the house had been broken into and items had been placed outside.”

According to the complainant he shouted at the suspects who were busy taking his goods out of his house and they ran away.

“The complainant ran after them and one of the men pulled out the knife and threatened to kill the complainant, so he retreated and the suspects jumped over the wall,” said Raphulu. The men were detained at the Germiston Police Station pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
