The Primrose police were alerted to a murder at a local sports ground, near the Marathon informal settlement on December 17.
“Police received an anonymous call, telling them that there was a man lying near the sports ground,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
Officers rushed to the scene and found the body of a 21-year-old man, with a stab wound in the upper body.
“Paramedics declared the man dead on the scene; and a case of murder was opened,” said Maome.
Police are appealing to anyone who has information on this case, to come forward.
