The SAPS in Primrose has asked the community to be on the lookout for several vehicles allegedly being used in crimes in the area. Vehicles included a white Volkswagen Golf, a white Mini Copper, a black Citroen sedan and a silver Mercedes Benz.

There was great excitement at Hoërskool Goudrif as the school celebrated a 100 per cent pass rate. Principal Marius Mills told the GCN he was pleased and grateful that they’d received such good results. The ‘Class of 2016’ was made up of 104 matric learners, who achieved 21 distinctions between them. Mills said he was extremely pleased with the fact that 67.3 per cent of the learners attained university exemption, 30.7 per cent managed diploma passes and 1.9 per cent, obtained higher certificate passes.

Four men, aged between 31 and 42 years old, were recently arrested by the Primrose police. The men were arrested at the corner of Mc Alpine and Geldenhuis roads in Malvern East and charged with armed robbery, malicious damage to property and attempted murder. The arrests were made after the victim was able to flag down passing Germiston Flying Squad officers.

Laerskool Die President was abuzz as pupils took their seats in anticipation of another academic year on Wednesday. The new Grade Ones were thrilled to be at ‘big school’ and to start learning. Though the first day of school was both exciting and scary for the little ones, they settled down quickly and started work. Principal Sybrand van Dyk could hardly contain his excitement as he welcomed old and new students to the school for another year. “I wish all the students and teachers all of the best for the year ahead,” van Dyk said.

5 Leeuwenhof shines in IEB matric examinations: https://bit.ly/2ijHlRI

Leeuwenhof Akademie is thrilled with its 2016 IEB matric examination results. The results were released on Friday, December 30, and the school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate. Leeuwenhof had 55 matric candidates who sat their final exams and between them, they attained 108 distinctions. The school had nine subjects with an average above 70 per cent, including maths which was 72 per cent. All 55 learners received university exemption.
