Two Elsburg SAPS officers, Const Erin Palmer and Sgt Lesego Morekisi were out conducting sector manager duties in Elsburg Sector One, last Tuesday at 11am, when they noticed two men carrying a green gas cylinder in Kruger Street, Elsburg.
They approached the men and searched them.
“The officers asked the men where they had obtained the gas cylinder from; and the men couldn’t answer them,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.
“When a receipt for the cylinder was requested, they couldn’t produce that either and the men were arrested.”
Phooko added that it’s believed one of the arrested men has been terrorising the Elsburg area – and has a number of housebreaking and theft cases pending in court against him.
