Warning: Severe thunderstorms and hot humid weather predicted in parts of Gauteng
Take the necessary precautions in extreme weather conditions.
Water levels in Gauteng have risen over the past weeks, thanks to the heavy rain that has been falling recently.
Today the South African Weather Service predicted possible rainfall until next week Wednesday.
In addition the weather service released the following warnings for Gauteng:
- Severe thunderstorms:
Severe thunderstorms, set to hit in the afternoon, may bring with them strong damaging winds, and even hail.
- High discomfort values:
Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions over some parts of Gauteng.
Temperatures are predicted to range from the high 20s to low 30s for the remainder of the week.
Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling and make sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
In addition they are urged to take care in the heat and ensure their pets have enough water.
