Missing Katlehong man found dead

The body of a man who went missing in December was found in an abandoned house in Katlehong.

The body of a 59-year-old man who went missing from the Kwesine Hostel in Katlehong South, was found by community members, recently.

The man was first reported missing by his family in December and his family searched night and day, to try and find him.

“Family members claimed that before his disappearance, the man received a call from a woman said to be his girlfriend,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe of the Ekurhuleni West Cluster.

The victim was later found dead in a deep hole inside an abandoned house.

“It’s believed that the body was only discovered, once the water level in the hole had dropped,” said Ndobe.

An inquest has been opened by the Katlehong police to investigate the man’s death.

“This may be changed to a case of murder, once we receive the post-mortem results,” Ndobe said.
