The SAPS in Primrose has asked the community to be on the lookout for several vehicles allegedly being used in crimes in the area. Vehicles included a white Volkswagen Golf, a white Mini Cooper, a black Citroen sedan and a silver Mercedes Benz.

A new hijacking trend is doing the rounds in Gauteng, warn police. Hercules police spokesman Capt Bonginkosi Msimango said criminals removed registration numbers from parked cars while residents were out shopping to use in this disturbing trend.

The festive season is a time for family, friends and fun. However, it is also the time of year when criminals take advantage of people’s vulnerability. With this in mind the SAPS has compiled a list of personal safety tips that it hopes residents will take to heart.

The South African Weather Service warned residents to be prepared for more thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, damaging winds and hot weather. The extreme weather was predicted to hit the province from last Tuesday.

The community is urged to report any water leaks, electricity outages or municipal complaints to the metro. Residents should receive a reference number when reporting issues to the metro. This reference number allows you to follow-up on the progress of your complaint.
