Officers nab man after long chase

Officers and detectives from the Elsburg Police Station chase down man suspected of business robbery.

While on a routine patrol in Wadeville recently, officers from the Elsburg Police Station assisted their fellow officer Det-Const Thapelo Khanya in making an arrest.

“Police noticed Khanya chasing a man suspected of business robbery in Osborn Road on foot.

“Leaping into action, the officers joined the chase and were able to corner the accused, who had run into oncoming traffic on the N17,” explained Const Daphney Phooko, the communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

The 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with business robbery.

He was held at the Elsburg Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
