Man found with dagga in Wadeville

Routine patrol in Wadeville leads to arrest.

During a patrol of Wadeville, police officers from Elsburg SAPS arrested a 30-year-old man.

The arrest was made, when police noticed the man behaving suspiciously.

“Officers noticed the man climbing out of a truck on the N17 off-ramp.

“When he noticed police, he ran down the off-ramp and under the Osborn Road bridge,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg police.

Elsburg SAPS’ dedicated Const Velaphi Zwane and Const Takalani Victor ran after the suspect.

When they caught-up with the accused, they searched him and found dagga in his pockets.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of dagga; he’ll appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
