EMPD’s Meshack and Edenvale Fire’s Shadrack: Sambo twins

Identical twin brothers work towards the good of the community.

The Ekurhuleni Community Safety Department is proud to have the passion of the identical twin Sambo brothers.

The brothers work in the emergency services and EMPD, respectively.

Both started as firefighters, before one fell in love with the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department.

“Previously it was hard to work out who was who, especially as they wore the same uniform when on duty,” said William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS).

“Members of the public are still puzzled by the twins, when they attend the same incidents in their respective lines of duty.”

Meshack Mandla Sambo is with the EMPD Bike Unit as a supervisor, while Shadrack is a shift manager at the Edenvale Fire Station.

Both are still currently studying at the Tshwane University of Technology, in their respective fields of duties.
