Police investigate assault

A woman from the Sakhile informal settlement, in Katlehong, claims she was recently assaulted by her 19-year-old boyfriend.

She told police, while opening a case at the Katlehong Police Station, that she was talking to a man when her boyfriend approached them.

Furious, he accused her of cheating on him and began to assault her.

It is alleged that during the attack he hit her with a rock, causing serious injuries.

Using the description given by the victim, police officers were able to find the accused and he was arrested and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was held at the Katlehong Police Station pending his appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
