Man nabbed for Makause housebreaking

A woman allegedly witnessed her ex-boyfriend breaking into and robbing her Makause informal settlement shack.

A woman from the Makause informal settlement was recently left shocked after allegedly witnessing her ex-boyfriend breaking into and robbing her shack.

The complainant told officers while opening a case at the Primrose Police Station that she saw her ex-boyfriend breaking the lock on her shack and making off with money, food, soap and clothing, to the value of R9 000.

Officers sprang into action and after following several leads were able to arrest the 35-year-old accused.

He was charged with housebreaking and theft.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
