The Germiston Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit recently arrested a 38 year-old man for the alleged rape of his daughter.
The seven-year-old and her two brothers were staying with their father, as their parents had separated and her mother was currently staying in Vereeniging.
“The child disclosed to a social worker that her father had allegedly had sex with her on more than one occasion, and had also asked her elder brother (12) to perform oral sex,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The social worker immediately reported the matter to the police.
“The children were taken from the accused to a place of safety.
“At a local children’s clinic a doctor confirmed that the young girl had been penetrated,” said Maome.
The man was arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
