Building rubble, tree branches and potholes mar Dinwiddie streets

The GCN was recently called to investigate the issues plaguing the streets of Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie resident Michael Kriek recently called the GCN to the area, to investigate a laundry list of issues.

The long list of problems included a leaking water meter in Langdale Road, the dumping of tree branches and building rubble, by residents, in several streets, including Langdale, Ashford, Dewlish and Bagshot roads, as well as potholes in several of the suburb’s roads.

In addition, the streets lights in Brenda Road had not been working since September 21, while alleged illegal notice boards could be found in Layfette Road.

After visiting the area, the GCN sent a query to the metro to establish what steps could be taken to respond to the problems in the area.

In addition, the GCN asked when the potholes in the area would be addressed and to who residents could report such problems.

The metro’s water saving policies were also questioned, due to the fact that a water meter leak had reportedly been left to leak for a week, especially as Ekurhuleni is currently experiencing water restrictions.

At the time of going to press the GCN had received no comment from the metro on any of the abovementioned issues.
