Interwaste holds Christmas lunch for gogos

As we head into the festive season the team from local company Interwaste and the Germiston SAPS hosted a Christmas lunch for the gogos of Dukathole.

In 2014, local company Interwaste joined the Germiston SAPS in caring for the elderly of Dukathole through the Help Mekaar Older People Project.

The company’s main objective was to ensure that the living conditions of the elderly were improved.

Since inspection of the project, Interwaste has installed water and toilets, renovated the homes of the elderly, started a vegetable garden and donated wheelchairs, fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

Now, as we head into the festive season, the company hosted its third annual Christmas party with the help of the Germiston SAPS.

The celebrations were held at the company recently and gave the team a chance to spoil the gogos of Dukathole.

“Management and staff of Interwaste went all out to serve the elderly and give them the ‘kings and queens’ treatment.

“The work done by this dedicated team is amazing and shows their commitment to the plight of the aged,” said Sgt Olga Masethla, from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster stations.

The day was a huge success.
