Police arrest 27 suspects in a week

The Primrose Police Station released its arrest statistics from October 31 to November 6.

Twenty-seven suspects were arrested in Primrose from October 31 to November 6.

The accused were arrested on several different charges.

Charges included possession of drugs, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, dealing in liquor without a license, armed robbery, common assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, trespassing, rape and malicious damage to property.

A number of illegal immigrants were also arrested.

The Primrose police’s acting station commander, Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to these successes.

Most of the suspects have appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court and their cases have been postponed for various reasons, while others will appear in court soon.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
