Warning – Severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and hail could be expected today

Today the South African Weather Service released a warning of severe thunderstorms and veld fires.

Severe Thunderstorms:

Severe thunderstorms with the possibility of large hail and damaging winds have been predicted for parts of Gauteng today.

After last week’s heavy downpour and flash floods that wreaked havoc in Ekurhuleni, residents are urged to take the necessary precautions when travelling and are encouraged to reduce speed and increase their following distances when driving. Headlights should also be kept on at all times to increase visibility.Residents should also ensure that they shelter their pets.
