Two dead, four critically injured in pedestrian accident
Two pedestrians were killed while four others were injured in an early morning accident.
A horror accident in Katlehong, on Sunday, left two pedestrians dead and four others critically injured.
“It is alleged that a vehicle hit them while they were walking on the pavement next to Sontonga Road at 4am,” said William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS).
Paramedics and a rescue team from the Hlahatsi Fire Station responded swiftly to the scene and found all six patients still lying across the area.
“Two male patients were declared dead on the scene and four others sustained poly-critical injuries.
“They were transported to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital by ambulance,” said Ntladi.
An inquest docket has been opened by the police for further investigation.
