Katlehong detectives trace six wanted suspects

Detectives from the Katlehong Police Station recently arrested six wanted suspects.

The Katlehong police have continued their efforts to crack down on crime in the area, through a number of different operations.

Detectives from the Katlehong Police Station recently mounted one such operation, launching a hunt for a number of wanted suspects.

During the operation, six suspects were arrested on various charges, including warrant of arrest, rape, and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

In addition, three suspects, aged between 21 and 30 years old, were arrested for an armed robbery reported in October.

It is alleged that a complainant was walking home from a local tavern at about 1am when he was robbed at gunpoint by the three accused.

“He told officers while opening the case that he was forced to lie down while the men searched him.

“They made off with R860,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster.

All of the arrested suspects were held at the Katlehong Police Station.

They have since appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
