Officers from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster recently arrested 107 suspects.
The cluster consists of 12 police stations which include Alberton, Bedfordview, Brackendowns, Eden Park, Elsburg, Katlehong North, Katlehong South, Germiston, Primrose, Tokoza, Vosloorus and Zonkizizwe.
The accused were arrested on various charges throughout the cluster area, through several different police operations including stop-and-searches and roadblocks.
Charges included driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless and negligent driving, robbery, malicious damage to property, common assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, fraud, sexual assault, theft, attempted murder and loitering.
Additional charges included theft of motor vehicle, possession of suspected stolen property, shoplifting, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, bribery, warrant of arrest, dealing in liquor without a licence and possession of drugs.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge, Germiston and Vosloorus Magistrates’ Courts, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
