Police nab two would-be thieves

Two men linked to previous crimes after being arrested for theft.

The Primrose police recently arrested two men, aged 23 and 43 respectively, for theft.

The arrest was made in Dahlia Road, in Primrose, after a homeowner called the police and his local security company to his home.

“The complainant alleged he heard his dogs barking non-stop and when he checked on his CCTV monitors he saw the two men in the yard,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Not long after the homeowner checked the monitors the camera feeds died, but police arrived in time to nab the men.

The men were arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

“During profiling police discovered that the 43-year-old was wanted in connection with a 2009 house robbery.

“The 23-year-old was wanted for using a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission. The case was opened earlier this year,” said Maome.

The men have since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their case was postponed for plea and trial.
