The Primrose police recently arrested an 18-year-old man for housebreaking and theft.
The arrest was made in the Makause informal settlement after the man’s mother opened a case against him.
“When opening the case, the complainant told officers that when she returned home from work she found her shack door had been forced open,” said Sgt Styles Maome, the communications officer for the Primrose police.
When she inspected the shack she discovered some of her clothes were missing.
“She told police that she believed her son was responsible for the crime as he was addicted to drugs and had stolen from her in the past,” said Maome.
Officers traced the suspect and he was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
