Woman allegedly raped by ex-boyfriend

A woman was allegedly assaulted and raped by her ex-boyfriend in the Delport informal settlement.

A woman from the Delport informal settlement recently opened a case of rape at the Primrose Police Station.

She told officers that she was walking to the shops when she met her 26-year-old ex-boyfriend.

“She claimed that he asked her to come and spend the night with him, but she refused and said she would visit him another time.

“He was not happy with this and grabbed her and dragged her to his shack where he allegedly demanded she sleep with him,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

She alleged that when she refused he punched her and undressed her and forced himself on her.

“The victim claimed that he kept her in his shack all night and repeatedly raped her,” said Maome.

Officers were able to trace the accused and he was arrested.

He was detained at the Primrose Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
