Police nab men for dagga possession

Seven men were recently arrested for being in possession of dagga.

While out conducting normal stop-and-search operations, last Saturday evening, the Germiston SAPS arrested six men.

The men, aged 22, 23, 25, 29, 31 and 32 years old, respectively were nabbed in Webber Road and in Arnheim Street in Lambton.

“They were searched by police officers and found to be in possession of dagga with a collective weight of 13 grams,” said Capt André de Jager, for the Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS.

The men were all due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, last Monday.

They were arrested by Consts Noko Mashanaite, Khathu Nemasiwane, Isaac Mthethwa, Eric Nkwana and Jacob Lebelo.

In a separate incident, the same officers received a tip-off regarding a man selling dagga in Webber Road, that same evening.

They found the 27-year-old man and searched him discovering 25 grams of dagga and R182 in cash in his possession.

He was arrested and charged with dealing in and possession of dagga.

He was also due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, last Monday.
