Ekurhuleni launches Taxi Day to kick-start transport month programme

MMC for Roads and Transport, Clr Petrus Mabunda, will visit the Germiston and Alberton taxi ranks on October 14.

The metro will embark on a drive to visit taxi ranks across the Ekurhuleni as part of the Transport Month programme.

The drive will commence tomorrow (October 14).

Ekurhuleni’s Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Roads and Transport Clr Petrus Mabunda will visit the Germiston Taxi Rank during the early morning rush to give a status update on the city’s Bus Rapid System (BRT) Harambee project to commuters, taxi drivers and owners.

Mabunda and his delegation will later proceed to the Alberton Taxi Rank in the afternoon to engage with the taxi rank community of Alberton.

The drive commences tomorrow at 6.30am at the Germiston Taxi Rank and proceeds to the Alberton Taxi Rank at 4.30pm.
