Police target criminals

The Primrose police shared their latest arrest statistics.

It was a busy week for the Primrose police, when they arrested 41 suspects in the area between September 26 and October 2,

The arrests were made during several operations that were held in the area, together held with the help of the EMPD.

Suspects were arrested for several crimes, including possession of drugs, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, dealing in liquor without a license, theft, rape, housebreaking, contempt of court, common robbery and shoplifting.

Several illegal immigrants were also arrested.

The Primrose police’s acting station commander, Lieut-Col Solly Maswanganyi, thanked everyone who contributed to these successes.

Most of the suspects have appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court and their cases have been postponed for various reasons, while others will appear in court soon.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
