Man lures young girl to his home, allegedly rapes her

A 26-year-old man was arrested for the September rape of a nine-year-old girl.

This 26-year-old man was arrested by Katlehong police for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl.

It is alleged that on September 14, a young girl was lured into a room in the Khumalo Section, in Katlehong, and raped.

The nine-year-old girl told her mother what had happened soon after the incident and together they opened a case of rape at the Katlehong Police Station.

“The young victim’s rape was confirmed at a local hospital and police began their investigation,” said Capt Mega Ndobe from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster.

After receiving a tip-off police were able to trace and arrest a 26-year-old man.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of rape.
