Man threatened with firearm in Primrose

The Primrose police recently arrested a 26-year-old man after he allegedly threatened a man with a firearm.

A 26-years-old was recently arrested by the Primrose police for allegedly threatening a man with a firearm.

The case was opened by the victim of the crime.

He told police that he was with friends in Rietfontein Road, in Primrose, when he met the accused.

“The victim claimed the man was carrying a bag so he asked what was inside it,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The accused opened the bag and allegedly pulled out a silver firearm which he pointed at the man.

“Realising there was no magazine in the firearm he confronted the suspect,” Maome said.

The man disappeared after the confrontation but was quickly found by police and arrested.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
