Welcome home the heroes of Quads 4 Quads

Riders to take on gruelling fund-raising journey.

On October 9, about 600 quad bike and two wheel motorcycle riders, including several quadriplegic and paraplegic riders on adapted quads, will end their spectacular journey from KwaZulu-Natal, as part of the 13th annual Quads 4 Quads mass ride, at Carnival City.

During the event, starting in Johannesburg on September 29, each rider will face about 250km for eight hours each day in the journey which takes them to Durban, Ballito and then back to Gauteng.

Started by The Adventure Company, run by Glenn Foley and Corinne Andrews, to raise funds and awareness for QASA (QuadPara Association of South Africa), Quads 4 Quads has raised over R7-million for QASA.

Ari Seirlis, CEO of QASA, as well as other well-known quadriplegics and paraplegics will be riding adapted bikes.

This will be the 12th time Seirlis is participating.

Quads 4 Quads is not a race, but a family ride which encourages everyone to get involved, whether they’re helping at the daily rest stops or joining the riders off road.

The race represents the spirit of QASA and quadriplegics everywhere by their firm belief that having a physical disability does not affect their ability to endure and to be the best that they can be.

Carnival City looks forward to welcoming the riders home on October 9 and encourages the community to come down to give the riders the heroes’ welcome they deserve as covering 250km for eight hours each day is a significant challenge for all able- and disabled riders.
