Talented dancer shines

Scarlett Schutte achieved great success in a weekend of dancing.

Young dancer, Scarlett Schutte (8), had a very busy time, last weekend.

Scarlett, who trains at Diana Moore Dance World, in Lambton, and who lives in Bedfordview, competed in both the SA Dance School Championships, at the Victory Theatre, as well as Supreme Dancer of the Year, held at Carnival City.

The aim of the SA Dance School Championships is to give beginner and novice dancers the chance to perform on stage without the stressful environment of competitive dance, so that they can enjoy the experience and be introduced to competitive dance slowly.

They also allow the amateur and competitive dancer the chance to compete at a very high level against some of the best dance talent in the country.

These are the dancers who train very hard year round to be the best and beat the best.

At the SA Dance Schools awards evening, held on September 11, Scarlett won four awards.

These are for Best Modern Jazz Solo Mini; Best Lyrical Solo Mini; Best Ballet Solo Mini and Best Showdance Solo Mini.

At the Supreme Dancer of the Year competition, Scarlett achieved second place in Freestyle Solo in the 8/9 Rising Star section, and a fifth place in her first ever championship section 9 and under slowdance.

Scarlett is trained by Amanda Leigh Reynolds for ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and showdance, and by Ashleigh Moore for freestyle and slowdance, at Diana Moore Dance World.
