Police nab 55 suspects in Primrose

The Primrose police nab 55 suspects in a week from September 5 to 12.

The Primrose police continue their efforts to crack down on crime in the Primrose area.

From September 5 to 12 the police, together with members of the EMPD, arrested 55 suspects; this is according to their latest arrest statistics.

Suspects were arrested on several different charges.

Charges included possession of drugs, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, dealing in liquor without a licence, theft, bribery, possession of suspected stolen property, crimen injuria and warrant of arrest.

A number of illegal immigrants were also arrested.

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to these successes.

Most of the suspects have appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court and their cases have been postponed for various reasons, while others will appear in court soon.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
