Beefing up on networking

Germiston Lake was the venue for the Ekurhuleni West Cluster’s team-building event, on Wednesday.

The Ekurhuleni West Cluster’s Women’s Network and Men For Change organised a team-building event at the Germiston Lake, on Wednesday.

The gathering saw members of the SAPS cluster come out in numbers to join in the fun of teambuilding exercises and competitions throughout the day.

“The aim of the event was to boost the morale of the members and encourage them to network within the cluster,” said cluster commander Gen Auma Korae.

“The members also needed to take a break and unwind a bit, so that they are mentally fit to fight crime.

“We also thank the members, through this programme, for all their hard work, time and dedication to serving the cluster and community.

“It is important to network, as it will enable the different stations and units to work well and effectively together.”

Korae also expressed her gratitude for the use of the venue.

“Another thank you goes to the metro for making the venue available to us to use; they were very cooperative,” she said.

Tug-of-war, sack races, a potjie competition and ”fill the bucket” were some of the activities on the day.

A prize-giving ceremony was held later that day, where trophies sponsored by Liberty were handed out.
