A 32-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police for domestic violence.
The arrest was made in the Marathon informal settlement after the victim opened a case against her boyfriend.
“She explained to officers she had been with her boyfriend when her friend called her.
“She claims her boyfriend started to accuse her of cheating and wouldn’t let her explain who was calling,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
The man allegedly grabbed the victim and began punching her.
“We are appealing to the community to seek help if there are problems in their relationships and not to resort to drastic measures,” Maome said.
The man was arrested and has appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for trial.
