Woman stabbed during altercation

A woman was allegedly assaulted by a former employee.

A woman was recently stabbed in the upper body in the Makause informal settlement, allegedly by a former employee.

The complainant told the Primrose police that the 24-year-old accused was her former employee.

She and a friend had come to collect her salary.

“The victim claims she asked the suspect to come with her so that they could work out how much money she owed her,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The accused was not satisfied with this answer and instead picked up some of the complainant’s work equipment.

“The victim claimed that when she tried to stop her from leaving the woman became enraged and stabbed her in the upper body with a sharp object,” Maome said.

Officers were able to track down the woman using the description given by the victim and she was arrested and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where her case was postponed for trial.
