Young women celebrate

Helpende Hand Lambton treated 30 girls from a local high school to a Women’s Day lunch, last Saturday.

August was dedicated to women, and many organisations celebrated the month. Helpende Hand Lambton was no different.

The charity organisation decided to host a special lunch for 30 girls from Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston and Hoërskool Oosterlig.

The lunch, held at the NG Kerk in Lambton, gave the girls an opportunity to interact and included talks by a number of guest speakers, two of whom were Ronel Smit and Joyce Stander.

Entertainment for the day was supplied by the Johannesburg Youth Ballet and Rikas School of Dancing.

The girls were able to capture the moment in the fun photo booth, run and sponsored by Chriselda Smith, from Destined for Greatness Photography.

“Thank you to everyone who made the time to join us and to everyone who made the day possible,” said chairman Yolanda Hall.

The group thanked sponsors Hazeldene Pick n Pay, Johnson and Johnson, Revlon, Hair Zone Fantacy, Girl Cave, Destined for Greatness Photography, Klein Begin, Heleen Ten Napel from Lions Rest Guesthouse and many more for their contributions to the day.

Before the girls headed home they each received a pamper pack filled with goodies to enjoy later.
