Man allegedly breaks tables and chairs in altercation

Man arrested by the Primrose police for malicious damage to property.

A man recently opened a case of malicious damage to property, at the Primrose Police Station.

The man explained to officers that he had been at his shack in the Makause informal settlement when he heard a knock on the door.

Before he could open the door it was forced open by a 31-year-old man.

“He allegedly accused the complaint of having an affair with his girlfriend, and the men begun to argue,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

During the altercation the accused allegedly destroyed a table, chairs, plates, a radio, a mirror, several pots and a stove.

Using the description given by the complainant, officers were able to locate the man and he was arrested.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
