A tragedy played out at the Simmer and Jack landfill site on Wednesday when the body of an eight-year-old boy who had been reported kidnapped was discovered. The boy’s body was found along with his 41-year-old alleged kidnapper’s body under a duvet on top of a hill at the landfill site. They were discovered at noon by workers at the landfill site who saw the duvet and picked it up making the gruesome find.

A cold front hit Gauteng last Tuesday. The South Africa Weather Service sent a warning to residents about the drop in temperature, as well as, the possibility of strong and damaging winds.

Community members are invited to attend the police auction of items at the Germiston Police Station. The auction will take place on Thursday, September 8, with viewing from 8am to 11am, in the police station’s big hall, on the corner of Long and Spilsbury streets, in the Germiston CBD.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information furnished by concerned members of the Primrose community, were responsible for a suspected drug dealer landing behind bars, last Wednesday. The man was found in possession of drugs worth just over R23 000 on the streets.
