The Gauteng police arrested a 40-year-old man following the discovery of two children’s bodies in an unused building in Germiston, recently. The two cousins, both eight years old, were reported missing at the Germiston Police Station. It is unclear how the children died, but it is believed that both children had suffered head injuries.

It was anything but a quiet Sunday at Germiston Lake as skateboarders and enthusiasts flocked to the Germiston Bowl to catch a glimpse of Tony Hawk. Hawk was part of the ground-breaking launch of the Skateistan South Africa skate school in Johannesburg.

While in the Primrose East area recently, members of the Benoni Flying Squad received a tip-off. “Officers were told that a vehicle, allegedly stolen in Johannesburg Central, had been spotted in Deodar Street,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“We met at a soccer match back in 1950,” said Marie Goutier. Marie (82) and her husband, Carel (86), celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday, August 18.
