A 25-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police for dealing in liquor without a licence.
The arrest was made in the Marathon informal settlement while officers were on a foot patrol.
“Police observed a group of people drinking near a local tuck shop. They watched the group until they witnessed one of the men purchasing liquor from the shop,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
They entered the shop and asked the man behind the counter for the shop’s liquor licence.
“When the man was unable to produce a licence he was arrested,” Maome said.
The suspect paid an admission of guilt fine at the Primrose Police Station and was released with a warning.
