Learn all about suicide prevention

Suicide Survivors holds an informative open day.

Suicide Survivors, an East Rand-based organisation which provides awareness about and training in suicide prevention, is hosting an open day on September 10.

The day also marks Suicide Prevention Day 2016.

Lorraine Mitchell, founder of Suicide Survivors, will share her personal journey and passion for suicide prevention, as well as talking about the related training she offers.

Having herself battled depression and suicidal thoughts, Lorraine’s work places strong emphasis on getting people to talk about suicide and depression and learning how to identify the warning signs in someone who is suicidal.

The open day will be held at Bedfordview Remedial, Learning and Therapy Centre, Talisman Road, Bedfordview, from 10am to noon.

There is no cost for the two-hour session and refreshments will be served.

RSVP to Lorraine Mitchell on suicide.survivors@outlook.com by August 25.
