The Gauteng police arrested a 40-year-old man following the discovery of two children’s bodies in an unused building in Germiston, last Monday. The two cousins, both eight years old, were reported missing at the Germiston Police Station. It is unclear how the children died, but it is believed that both had suffered head injuries.

Bridgett Evans is desperately looking for witnesses to an assault. Her brother, Victor Bravery (45), was severely assaulted sometime between July 25 and 26. “The attack took place in the vicinity of the Germiston Residential Hotel, where he lived, in King Street, Germiston South,” Evans said.

3. Local boys help school’s rugby teams dominate at top competition: https://bit.ly/2aR0ofP

Nine local Germiston boys were part of Leeuwenhof Akademie’s rugby teams, who played in the Golden Lions finals for medium schools, recently.

Millions of South Africans showed up at voting stations around the country to cast their votes on August 3. The preliminary results were released throughout the day on August 4.

Voters made their marks at the polls on August 3, and then waited for the final results of the 2016 local government elections. In Ekurhuleni, the race between the ANC and the DA, was tight and came down to the wire in some wards.
