While in the Primrose East area recently, members of the Benoni Flying Squad received a tip-off.
“Officers were told that a vehicle, allegedly stolen in Johannesburg Central, had been spotted in Deodar Street,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
They travelled to the address given, where they found the vehicle.
“The engine and registration numbers were tested.
“The test linked the vehicle to a Johannesburg Central Police Station case number,” Maome said.
The 53-year-old man who was driving the vehicle at the time was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and taken to the Primrose Police Station.
He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
