Father and daughter robbed at gunpoint

Two Primrose residents were allegedly robbed by two men at gunpoint in Magnolia Street.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery that took place in Magnolia Street.

The crime was reported to the police by a woman who claimed that she was walking with her father when they were approached by two men.

“The victim told police that the men greeted them as if they were simply going to pass them by,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“Suddenly one of the accused pulled out a firearm and threatened the father and daughter.”

The suspects told the pair not to make a noise if they didn’t want to die and then demanded the victim’s handbag containing money, toiletries and her father’s cellphone.

Officers were able to trace one of the two men and he was arrested.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.

Police continue to search for the remaining suspect.
