Man attacked by six men

One man was arrested after an attack victim was able to identify him.

A man claimed he was on his way to work recently when he was beaten and robbed.

He explained to police he was attacked by six men while walking in Main Reef Road in Primrose.

“The six men allegedly beat the victim with golf clubs on his upper body before making off with R3 800 and his shoes,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The victim was able to identify one of the men and gave police a clear description of him.

The 22-year-old was traced and arrested on charges of attempted murder and armed robbery.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where the matter was postponed for a bail application.

Police are still searching for the other five attackers.
