Police share arrest statistics

The Primrose police arrested 26 suspects in the Primrose area from July 11 to 17.

Members of the Primrose police arrested 26 suspects through a series of operations held in the Primrose area from July 11 to 17.

The accused were arrested on various charges.

These charges included possession of drugs, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of stolen property, rape, shoplifting, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, murder, malicious damage to property, domestic violence and theft.

A number of illegal immigrants were also arrested during the operations.

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
