1. Man found hanging at lake leaves suicide note – update: https://bit.ly/2a5naRx

The Germiston SAPS confirmed that a 52-year-old man was found hanging in one of the shelters at Germiston Lake, last Monday. “The man left a suicide note and the police were summoned to the scene. An inquest docket has been opened for investigation,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

2. Majorettes bring colour to the city: https://bit.ly/2a8VWIA

There was a riot of colour and exceptional talent during the week-long SAMCA (South African National Majorette and Cheerleading Association) national drum majorette competition, at Germiston Stadium, recently. The best of the best from around the country competed in various sections, culminating in the elite majorettes section on Saturday. East Rand teams dominated the elite section, showcasing the incredible talent of Ekurhuleni.

3. Man found hanging from gazebo at lake: https://bit.ly/2a4nOS2

A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found hanging from a gazebo at Germinston Lake last Monday. ER24 paramedics were alerted to the scene after members of public spotted the man. “Upon arrival, paramedics found the man hanging under the gazebo. Assessments showed that no signs of life were present,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesman.

4. Family friend allegedly sexually assaults child: https://bit.ly/2aeCaxT

A 41-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police and charged with sexual assault. The arrest was made after a case was opened at the Primrose Police Station, by a young girl’s mother. “The complainant alleged that she was informed by her child that the friend they had asked to babysit her had touched her all over her body,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
