Mandela Day excitement at Prim Villa

Chubb Fire and Security and the Bedfordview Methodist Church visited the residents, as part of their 67 minutes for Mandela.

Prim Villa was a hub of activity on Mandela Day, last Monday, with a visit from Chubb Fire and Security and the Bedfordview Methodist Church.

The home, in Cydonia Road, Primrose Hill, specialises in the care of people with Alzheimer’s and other related dementias.

Marina Spiridakos and a team from Chubb Fire and Security Germiston visited residents during their morning tea and brought cake for them to enjoy.

The team had a chance to interact with the residents as they served the tea and cake.

They also donated art and craft materials and knee rugs to the home.

At lunch time, the residents were in for yet another special treat when the Bedfordview Methodist Church Mission Commission brought fish and chips box meals, from Bedfordview Ocean Basket, for everyone to enjoy.

This marked the third year the church members have donated their time to the home on Mandela Day.

“I love to watch the residents enjoy their box meals,” said Prim Villa manager, Sharon Flint.

“They very seldom get takeaways and you can see the residents are excited by the change.”
