Two nabbed with drugs

Officers from the Benoni K9 Unit, together with members of the EMPD, arrested two men for possession of drugs in the Primrose area.

During a routine patrol of Primrose, members of the EMPD and Benoni K9 Unit arrested two men, aged 28 and 31.

They were charged with drug possession.

The first suspect was arrested in Filbert Street, after officers received a complaint from residents about a suspicious-looking man in the area.

“The man was found in possession of a white substance in a plastic bag,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The second man was arrested at the corner of Cactus and Rietfontein roads, when he was also found in possession of a white substance, believed to be drugs, in a plastic bag.

Both men were arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

The Primrose SAPS’s station commander, Lieut-Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
